Are Programs Safe for the Elderly?

Often, we receive questions regarding our programs if they are safe for the elderly.

“How about the elderly? Do you have suggestions for older folks with muscular, tendon, and bone problems?”

The answer is, yes. If you look at Unlock Your Hip Flexor program, some of the main exercises might be too difficult while some may be fine for you to do. But for the ones that are too difficult for you to do, what we recommend is refer to the exercise swap video. The exercise swap video will be sent to you after you order. But if you have difficulty finding it, you can contact our support desk at support@healingthroughmovement.com. They will get back to you within 1 business day when it comes to specific access to that exercise swap video. And that exercise video, we go through the program and we provide suggestions on either making the exercise harder or easier.

Let’s go through 2 different exercises that will definitely help:

#1 – Mobility Exercise

Lie on your stomach on the floor or bed maintaining a good alignment with the body. Feet are shoulder-width apart. Rest your forehead on your hands. Slowly raise your upper body using your forearms. Hold the position for a couple of seconds. Return to the starting position and repeat the movement.

Start off with 1 set of 10 receptions in a smooth controlled movement holding the end position for a good stop, ideally for 2 seconds. Intensity is light. The purpose of the exercise is to help improve the movement of the spine and pelvic area.

#2 – Windshield Wiper

Lie on your stomach on the floor or bed. Rest your forehead on your hands and feet are shoulder-width apart. Lift both feet out toward your seat. Cross the feet. Repeat the movement in an alternating scissor-like motion.

Start off with 1 set of 10 receptions in a smooth controlled movement with a good stop at the end position, ideally holding the end position for 2 seconds. Intensity is light. The purpose of the exercise is to dynamically stretch the internal and external rotators of the hip.

If you get great results please let your friends, family, and colleagues know! We greatly appreciate it.

Take care,
